How Do I ......

Adjust the Display ?

Use the 6 icons at the top of the screen  Screen Configuration Icons  to increase or decrease text size or expand the layout to fit your screen width.

Send an email to an Advertiser ?

In the View Listing screen, look for the Actions section and click on Contact Listing Owner.

You will be taken to a new page with a contact form that will email the listing owner directly.

Submit a listing ?

Sign up for an account (if you don't already have one) and log in.

Click on any Create Listing link and follow the instructions.

Pay for my listing ?

If you choose a listing plan that requires payment, you will be presented with the options to pay on-line via PayPal using a PayPal account or by credit cared, or to use an off-line payment via cheque, bank transfer etc. If you choose the off-line payment mathod, you will receive an e-mail with full details.

Edit my listing ?

Log into your account and click on the 'My Listings' link in the Advertisers Area box.

You will be presented with all the listings associated with your account and you may edit any of them by clicking on the Edit Listing button for that listing.

Renew my listing ?

Before your listing expires, you will receive an email warning you of the fact. As soon as you have received this email you may log into your account and you will see a Renew Listing button against each listing that you can renew. Click on the buttom and follow any instructions.

Delete my listings from this site ?

Use our Contact Form and send us an instruction as to what you would like deleted. If you wish to have your account deleted as well, please make that clear.

What If ......

I have forgotten my password ?

Use the Forgot Password link and follow the instructions. You must use the same email address that you used to create your account or the system will reject it.

After submitting the request, you will be emailed a confirmation link to verify that you were the person that requested the password change, and only after verification will you be allowed to proceed.

If you do not verify the request, no action will be taken and the password will remain unchanged.

I wish to claim ownership of a listing ?

If you see a listing that you think you should own, create an account if you do not have one and log in, or log in if you already have an account ,and click the 'Contact Us' link on the top menu bar and send us details of the listing you would like to claim. Please include some proof that you are entitled to be the owner of this listing.

I need an official Invoice ?

Please use the Contact Us form and supply the following details:

  • Your Full Name
  • Your Company Name (If applicable)
  • Your Passport or Tax number (If a Company - must be the Company tax number)
  • Your full Address
  • Your City/Town
  • Your State or County
  • Your ZIP or Post Code
  • Your Country

We are sorry, but we will not be able to process any request for an official invoice if you do not supply ALL the information above.

I don't want to pay Tax ?

Tax rates are determined by the Spanish Tax Authorities interpretation of your EU Tax and Residency Status. Rates may vary from 0% for Business to Business transactions between Tax registered EU Businesses (Or non EU clients) to whatever tax your country of residence applies.

I want to order bulk listings ?

Please Contact Us and ask one of our representatives to communicate with you by email or phone ( Don't forget to include a phone number ! ) and we can discuss your requirements and bulk advertising rates.

I want to order Banner Advertising ?

Please Contact Us and ask a representative to communicate with you by email or phone ( Don't forget to include a phone number ! ) and we can discuss your requirements and advertising rates.

I need you to Compile my Ad ?

Please Contact Us and ask a representative to communicate with you by email or phone ( Don't forget to include a phone number ! ) and we can discuss your requirements, and quote for your advertisement compilation.

I messed up editing my listing ?

Unfortunatly, there is NO WAY to restore a previous listing once it has beed edited and submitted.

I forgot to renew my listings ?

Expired listings that are in a SUSPENDED state can only be seen by the logged in owner of the listings, and can be renewed by clicking on the Renew Listing button and following any instructions.

  • FREE suspended listings are retained for 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted.
  • PAID (commercial) suspended listings are retained for 6 months, after which they are permanently deleted.

 

I used OpenID to log-in ?

If you used OpenID to login to your account and you already had set up (or been issued) with a conventional YachtingDirect International account, and you can't see your listings you should :-

  • Log out and use your existing YachtingDirect International login details

OR

  • Use our Contact Form to ask us to move your listings from your old YachtingDirect International account to your new OpenID account

I am using IE 10 and the pages do not display correctly ?

Users of Internet Explorer 10 need to add the yd-i.com site to their Compatibility View settings.

  • Click the 'Tools' button.
  • Click the "Compatibility View settings" .
  • In the popup dialog input "yd-i.com" (it may be already filled in).
  • Click "Add".
  • Click "Close".
  • Refresh your page and the site should now display correctly.

I use Google Apps for my eMail accounts.

If you use Google Mail (Google Apps for Business) to handle your eMail accounts, we cannot guarantee the delivery of email from form submissions or administrative messages  to your eMail address.

You should ensure that the address advertising@yd-i.com is added to your address book list, white-listed (NOT blacklisted) and any bulk mail tags and filters are correctly configured.

I don't want to pay any further commercial advertising but wish to retain my free listings ?

If you don't renew your commercial advertising, your free listings will continue until they expire and you can renew them as normal.

 

Please Note: This does NOT apply to free or additional listings that were added, included or modified as part of a commercial advertising promotional package or offer. Any such listings will be deleted on the expiry of the package or offer to which they were attached, and the package or offer shall be considered void.

Why ......

Can't I see my listing ?

Listings are queued for administrator approval after submission or editing. This normally takes place within 2 working days.

  • A listing that is queued for administrator approval will be visible to you as a logged-in user but not to the public.
  • A listing that has expired and requires renewal (which may involve a further payment) will be visible to you as a logged-in user but not to the public.
  • A listing that has been banned for any infraction of the Terms of Service policy will be visible to you as a logged-in user but not to the public.

Can't I log in ?

You are either using an incorrect user-name/password combination or your account has been suspended or banned by the site administrator,

Do I need to accept cookies ?

Cookies are used by this site to remember your preferences and logged-in status. If you do not accept cookies, many features of this site will not work.

Has my listing been moved ?

We reserve the right to move your listing to the most suitable category we deem appropriate. On very rare occasions, we may create a new category for your listing if it will not fit into anything else.

Do my links and addresses get removed ?

During the approval process, all web, email, street and postal addresses and links are removed from the Description text area - if you want to include links in your listing, you should upgrade to a paid plan.

Is the page blank after submitting a listing ?

You may get a blank page after submitting a paid  listing having chosen PayPal or off-line payments if your internet connection is slow or your images are large.

Try to create the listing without any images ( you can always add them later by editing your advert ) add them one by one if necessary.

Doesn't the 'Visit Website' link work ?

Links to external websites may not work for the following reasons:

  • You have Javascript disabled in your browser, or your browser doesn't support it.
  • You have not accepted Cookies at the top of the page.
  • The listing does not have an associated website.
  • The listing is a FREE listing that does not include website links.

Has my account disappeared ?

Your account may have been deleted in the following circumstances:

  • You did not complete the account registration by confirming the account within 30 days.
  • You did not submit a listing on your new account within 30 days.
  • Your account no longer has any listings attached to it as they have expired, and were not renewed within the prescribed time limits.
  • FREE suspended listings are retained for 30 days, after which they are permanently deleted.
  • PAID (commercial) suspended listings are retained for 6 months after which they are permanently deleted.
     

Can't I see my listings after logging in ?

If you used OpenID to login to your account and you already had set up (or been issued) with a conventional YachtingDirect International account, and you can't see your listings you should :-

  • Log out and use your existing YachtingDirect International login details

OR

  • Use our Contact Form to ask us to move your listings from your old YachtingDirect International account to your new OpenID account

Do some 'Free' listings have links/maps/logos ?

'Free'  listings that contain links and/or maps and/or logos are part of a larger bulk or custom commercial advertising campaign.

Don't I get eMails that are handled by Google ?

If you use Gmail as your account or advertising address, or retrieve your eMails from another account via your Gmail interface or subscribe to Google Apps for Business to handle your eMail accounts, the eMails sent to you from our mail.form or from our administrators may be blocked as spam and not delivered.

You should ensure that the address advertising@yd-i.com is white-listed in your spam filters and accepted senders lists, or choose an alternative eMail address that is not associated with, nor handled by, nor polled by, Gmail nor added to any Google Groups account.
