THE ENGLISH-SPEAKING RESIDENTS' ASSOCIATION in Mallorca ( known as ESRA ) was founded in 1983 and currently has some 1200 members island-wide. The original challenges - the language barrier, finding a social life, coping with legal and medical matters, remain today. These issues are more easily tackled when one can draw upon the experiences of others and there is no better resource than ESRA.

SYBAss was set up to represent large yacht builders in a constantly changing world. Prior to our establishment, the specific needs of the superyacht industry were often squeezed between the maritime leisure and professional marine industries. SYBAss ensures that the interests of superyacht builders are given the priority they deserve. There are many players involved in the superyacht sector, from designers to suppliers, architects to brokers, regulators to owner’s reps. Ultimately, however, it is the builder who has final responsibility for the end product. SYBAss represents the most experienced and prestigious yards.

The aims of the association are:
1. To promote the integration and active participation of European citizens in political life in Spain.
2. To encourage citizens to register (the Padrón) in their municipality of residence and on the Census of EU residents, thereby enabling them to vote in local and European elections.

The Balearic Nautical Association is formed by some one hundred companies within the nautical sector, grouping together those companies in the commercial sector as well as those in the service and construction sector. Our association is supported by both government and international levels by the National Association of Nautical Companies (ANEN) whilst here in the Balearic Islands we are attached to the management of CAEB (Balearic Confederation of Business Associations).
